Publisher Services
We provide a broad range of professional services for publishers and authors. Files are always preferred in electronic formats (text files, RTF, or Microsoft Word).
We provide discounts for multiple services, as well as to fellow members of CSPA.
Proofing:
Check a manuscript for misspellings and gross punctuation errors (double commas, etc.). Cost: 1¢ per word.
Technical Editing:
As above, plus check the manuscript for average to minor errors in syntax, flag words deemed inappropriate for the subject matter or readership, correct punctuation. Cost: 1.5¢ per word.
Comprehensive Editing:
Complete editorial review of the manuscript. Cost: 3.5¢ per word (estimated; depends on the state of the manuscript).
Page Layout / Typesetting:
Design and typeset the interior of your book, or design of your promotional piece. Costs depend on color, artwork, differing text styles, etc. Cost: 0.5¢ per word for a black-and-white book with no heirarchical text (i.e., a novel).
